Portsmouth Dinner 2015

The Trustees of The Vernon Monument Fund are pleased to report on the most recent key fundraising event, held on Friday 5th June 2015.

Rig: Black tie.

Venue: The Royal Naval Club / Royal Albert Yacht Club, 17 Pembroke Road, Portsmouth, Hampshire PO1 2NT (Opposite “The Pembroke” pub).

19:00   Pre-dinner drinks and reception with live nautical-style entertainment

19:30   Dinner in Main Dining Room: with a Caribbean-laced menu:

  • Smoked salmon and creamed cheese
  • Fillet of pork with rum and mango sausage meat stuffing
  • Rum crème brûlée
  • Alternative menu choices were available on request, to meet special dietary requirements
  • Red and white house wine inclusive with dinner
  • Rum tot for loyal toast

Revelry: After-dinner events were ably led by the ever-popular entertainer Shep Woolley and his band, including sea shanties and rum-laced toasts

Excitement: Raffle prizes, auction items and a celebrity attendee were all fun events that added sparkle to the “Up-Channel Night” festivities

23:30   Carriages

Beneficiary fund: Project Vernon is registered with the Charity Commission, licence number 1128677. All proceeds from this event will go to the Vernon Monument Fund.

Lead organiser: Mike Critchley, ably supported by David Sandiford and Dixie Dean

Tickets: were priced at £60 per head using the secure PayPal facility below. There was a maximum seating capacity of 110 seats.
