HMS COLLINGWOOD Field Gun Day

Project Vernon manned a stand at the annual Field Gun event at HMS COLLINGWOOD on 31 May 2014.  The stand was manned by our stalwart supporters, Rob Hoole and Martyn Holloway as well as Project Vernon Trustees Tony Devitt, David Sandiford and Dixie Dean.

The event was very well attended by the public and we managed to give out a large number of PR Leaflets and hopefully spread the word about Project Vernon further.  We also raised over £200 in donations and sales of Project Vernon merchandise.  Every penny counts!!

We met some old faces from HMS VERNON including the OIC of the Maritime Trade Faculty on the 6th floor of Creasey Centre. We also met Tiny Height, ex PO(MW) who spent a lot of his time at Pheonix NBCD School but did do a short stint at the Mine Warfare Section HMS VERNON. Tiny had recently donated items to the Historical Diving Society to exhibit in the Diving Museum at Stokes Bay.
