British Military Tournament
Project Vernon were again invited to participate in the British Military Tournament at Earls Court in December 2011. This provided us with the opportunity to raise awareness of the project in the eyes of a wide variety of serving and ex-service personnel from all walks of life.
A total of just over £900 was raised by way of donations and sales of Danger at Depth prints. There is a possibility of another tournament in 2012 and we have already reserved our spot.
The project were again co-located with the Southern Diving Unit, the Historical Diving Society and the Army divers also shared the tank. We took advantage of the very large crowd that appeared each time a diver entered the water by giving out PR Brochures and talking to people about the project.
A roster of helpers including, John Dadd, Stewart Sissons, Martyn Holloway, David Sandiford, Rob Hoole, Keith Broughton , Dennis Brady and Dixie Dean, manned the stand over the three days and needless to say the team met a lot of people and old acquaintances were renewed .
