Project Vernon - Maintaining Momentum

Welcome to Vernon Monument's updated website, based on an entirely new, online technology platform... All our systems, files, plus our contact data on valued customers and dedicated supporters are all restored to the functionality enjoyed previously.

Our fundraising effort continues apace, as we move beyond the £100K milestone of monies raised towards the monument - our aim for 2012 is to double this sum in the coming year. All donations are warmly welcomed and supporters are encouraged to browse our Purchases pages for merchandise - all proceeds go towards the the design, construction and installation of the monument. A registered charity, we can process Gift Aid certificates for all donations.

Sketches of the proposed monument's design: with a concrete and steel-reinforced pedestal, mounted on the canal's seabed, the fourteen-ton stone and bronze above-water structure is a clever design by renowned sculptor Les Johnson FRBS.

Project Vernon's end goal for fundraising is circa £275,000 and, as we approach the half-way point, the world is enduring a tough economic climate, so our projected timescale has been adapted to a more pragmatic schedule...

The numbers represented below, in £000's, give an indication of how far we have to go to reach our goal.
